As you may be aware VMZINC in conjunction with the FTMRC, Roofing Industry Alliance and CITB, launched a new training module at the end of 2016. This is the first hard metals manufacturers training module to be formally linked to the Level 2 NVQ qualifications and is aligned with the Basic Competency Programme (BCP). Once a pass grade has been achieved the attendee is immediately eligible for a Red ‘Experienced Worker’ CSCS card (subject to having passed the required “working at heights” HSE test within the last 2 years). The card is non-renewable but the holder has three years to register with a training provider to choose the most suitable route to achieve the nationally recognised Level 2 Vocational Qualification and thereafter be eligible for the blue “Skilled Worker” CSCS card. In the first twelve months, VMZINC have delivered the training module to over 170 hard metals workers, showing our commitment to help improve standards within the industry.
