Interlocking panel

The Interlocking panel façade system is suitable for use on new build or renovation projects. The system can be installed horizontally or vertically on a metal or a wooden framework that is fixed to the supporting structure (masonry or metal structure). The panels have an elegant appearance with a reveal joint. The system belongs to the rain screen family (wall cladding installed with a ventilated air space and provisions made for drainage from within the exterior envelope).

The Interlocking panels are made based on the measurements of your project, so this is a bespoke solution, and measurements should be precise.

The panels can be laid vertically or horizontally. The choice of direction implies different aesthetics and technical solutions for the main flashings.
This dimension must be determined before establishing the layout and must be indicated when the panels are ordered.
Panels are fixed directly on wood or metal transverse purlins spaced a maximum of 600 mm apart.
A continuous 38mm (minimum) ventilated air gap is left clear behind the boarding on the entire facade.


Installing Horizontal Panels:
The panels are laid from top to bottom in horizontal rows, with the groove less side up.

  • Fitting the upper part of the facade:


1 The VMZINC is fixed directly on a timber or metal substructure spaced a maximum of 600mm apart.
2 A continuous 38mm ventilated air gap is left clear behind the panels on the entire facade.
3 Continuous ventilation openings are made at the top and bottom.
4 The insulation panels must be sufficiently rigid and well anchored to their structure to prevent them from moving and blocking the ventilation space (refer to the insulation manufacturer's specifications).
5 The cladding supports a must be at least 40 mm wide to support the panels correctly.
6 Any wood treatment products (fungicides, insecticides) must be dry and completely neutral to VMZINC.
7 The fastenings for the wood or metal supports are countersunk in order to avoid any contact with the VMZINC.
8 The plastic film ( link to 9.8 remove the film) on the zinc must be removed within 2 months of installation. The film should be left on if other trades are working in proximity of the zinc. The film must not be partially removed.
