Characteristics of this technique
The VM ZINC® is fixed directly on wood or metal transverse purlins spaced a maximum of 600 mm apart. |
A continuous 20 mm (minimum) ventilated air gap is left clear behind the boarding on the entire facade. |
Continuous ventilation openings are made at the top and bottom. |
An efficient rain screen is recommended. The insulation panels must be sufficiently rigid and well anchored to their structure to prevent them from moving and blocking the ventilation space (refer to the insulation manufacturer's specifications.) |
Structure
The purlins are in wood with a minimum 60 mm wide supporting surface or in metal with a 40 mm wide supporting surface. |
Spaced a maximum 900 mm apart and installed perpendicular to the slope. |
75° to 90° facades: install boards vertically leaving 3 to 5 mm between them. |
Any wood treatment products (fungicides, insecticides) must be dry and completely neutral to VM ZINC®. |
The fastenings for the wood or metal purlins are countersunk in order to avoid any contact with the VM ZINC®. |
