Roofing

Warm roof on insulated metal-faced panels
The VMZINC® Membrane should be installed between the VMZ ZINC® PLUS and the top face of the metal faced composite panels. Stretch horizontally over the entire roof and fix with staples, with DuPontTM Tyvek® adhesive tape or equivalent alternative.


Warm roof on rigid insulation
The VMZINC® Membrane should be installed between the VMZ ZINC PLUS and the rigid insulation. Stretch horizontally over the entire roof and fix with plates, DuPontTM Tyvek® adhesive tape or equivalent alternative.


Cladding

The VMZINC® Membrane should be placed against the cold side of the insulation (before the installation of the ventilated structure). Stretch horizontally over the entire surface and fix with staples or with DuPontTM Tyvek® adhesive tape. In order to avoid water infiltration around facade penetrations, allow sufficient upstands in the VMZINC® Membrane The membrane at these penetrations must be fixed towards the inside with DuPont™ Tyvek® self adhesive tape. Please note that special care must be taken at the angles.

Overlap the VMZINC® Membrane sheeting by 15cm (follow the small dots). A roofpitch lower than 22° (40%) needs an overlap of 20cm (follow the large dots). If the slope is less than14° (25%) we strongly recommend to tape the overlaps with DuPontTM Tyvek® adhesive tape.
Seams, overlaps and possible damage to VMZINC® membrane should be masked with this adhesive tape. In case the roof pitch is under 14° we recommend to use this tape upon all the overlaps. Connections to other substrates –e.g. masonery – are to be made with self-adhesive butyl tapes. The VMZINC® Membrane must be end into the gutter.

In order to avoid water infiltration around roof penetrations, allow sufficient upstands in the VMZINC® Membrane. The membrane at these penetrations must be fixed with DuPont™ Tyvek® self adhesive tape. Please note that special care must be taken at the angles.

The surface of the VMZINC® Membrane should be clea¬ned after installing. All residues of oil, wax and wood treatment products should be removed to guarantee the function of the membrane. We recommend to protect the VMZINC® Membrane after installation to avoid damage and or tearing.
