VMZINC, the choices
Characteristics of this technique
- The VMZINC is installed on the boarding
- A continuous 20 mm (minimum) ventilated air gap is to be left behind the boarding on the entire facade.
- Continuous ventilation openings must be made at the top and bottom.
An efficient rain screen is recommended. The insulation panels must be sufficiently rigid and well anchored to their structure to prevent them from moving and blocking the ventilation space (refer to the insulation manufacturer's specifications). | | Structure - Clean and dry 100 to 150 mm wide by 18 or 24 mm thick softwood boards, depending on the centre-to-centre distance between bearing structure elements.
- Any wood treatment products (fungicides, insecticides) must be dry and completely neutral to VMZINC.
- 75° to 90° facades: install boards vertically leaving 3 to 5 mm between them.
- 90° facades: install boards vertically at 400 mm centre-to-centre. However, for the areas of the facade near by traffic, continuous boarding should be installed to a height of 2 m.
- Maximum difference in height of 1 mm between roof boards. The deflection measured under a rigid 600 mm long straight edge cannot exceed 2 mm in all directions.
- The nails fixing the boards are countersunk in order to avoid any contact with the VMZINC.
